What’s up? If you made it here you probably found me through a blog or a forum that I commented on.
A little about myself: While growing up, I used to be very overweight with a BMI of about 35. At my worst, I weighed a good 240 pounds at 5 feet 7 inches tall. This was about 8 years ago. Now, I’m sitting pretty steady weighing on most days around 170 pounds at 5 feet 10 inches. I’ve gone through many different phases of different diets, different workout regimens, yada yada yada. You name it, I’ve tried or considered it. I’ve spent a lot of time reading material from some of the best like Lyle McDonald, Martin Berkhan, and Alan Aragon (just to name a few). Google them and read their stuff if you’re interested.
Anyway, the purpose of this site is to test out a weight loss program that I thought would be pretty cool that I personally would use if I wanted to go through the weight loss process again. Keep reading along if you want to hear me out, otherwise, peace out!
The program essentially involves you giving me money that I hold onto for you while you lose weight, and I give it back when you reach your goal. To keep it simple, the model I would like is $10 per pound that you want to lose, and you have 12 months to achieve your goal. As a simple example, if you want to lose 10 pounds, you would give me $100 to hold onto (through Paypal, check, or the most convenient means for the both of us), and I’ll give you back the $100 if you lose all 10 pounds. However, if you don’t lose all the weight, I get to keep $10 per pound of the number of pounds that you were short of your goal by (I’d consider it a “donation”). This gives some incentive to take the weight loss a little more seriously. I plan to check in with you on a regular basis to see how life and weight loss is going, and to provide any opinions or guidance that may be of some value.
Why trust me? No convincing reason to other than having some faith. We could draft some legal documents up but I don’t really have the time for that. I’m just doing this in my spare time as a hobby as I’m a health care provider during the day and I’ve always had a passion for weight loss and health.
